CSR Initiatives
We at KVK Group believe that every company has a responsibility towards communities that foster their growth. As a Power generation company with its presence across the country, we are determined in our promise to give back to the society. We have been successful in demonstrating that through various initiatives for sustainable development of the society.
Skill Enhancement
The Company recognizes the active role that villagers play in learning new skill sets like House wiring, Welding and Plumbing, and thus training for a period of 18 months in our Power plants is arranged which helps them to earn a livelihood.
Education and Training
In addition to its Skill enhancement programmes, we are aware of the impact of education and training to the communities in which the Company operates. We support various initiatives to create awareness about the right to education and encourage the communities around its Power plants to send their children to school.
At Nilachal, the government Ashram school in Rahangol village was demolished and reconstructed with better facilities including resources for running the school, Installation of Power transformer for uninterrupted power supply etc. In Chhattisgarh, we are providing conveyance for school children from Reiki and adjoining three villages to their respective schools. Various tuition centres/coaching classes for the 10th to 12th class students in the village of Nagappatinam in Tamil Nadu have been introduced which has enabled the students to focus on their higher studies.
The company is starting a new Industrial training centre (ITC) Infrastructure in Krushnaprasad Block, Puri to enhance the livelihood opportunities for the Villagers.
Healthcare
Health dispensaries with doctors and paramedical staff with the added benefits of free distribution of medicines for the villagers have been set up at Reiki Village, Korba district, Tehsil Pali.
Frequent health check up camps likes 'Eye Camp' across all the adjoining villages near KVK Power plants have proved to be successful in creating awareness among the masses.
Drinking Water
Water is a scarce resource. In India, availability of clean drinking water is a major concern for many communities. KVK Energy is committed to improving the situation by drilling bore wells at Reiki village and supply of water in extreme conditions like summer through Water tankers.
Other Facilities
KVK Energy supports local community through construction of Bus shelters, helps in the development, repair and maintenance of roads and culverts, and facilitates blood donation camps. We built a temple in one of the neighbouring villages of Nagapattinam where people from both within and surrounding villages come to worship.
Relief Fund
KVK Energy has handed over a cheque of Rs.10 lakhs to Sri Rosaiah, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of A.P towards 'Chief Minister's Relief Fund' for the thousands rendered homeless in the devastating floods in parts of Kurnool, Krishna and Mahaboobnagar districts of Andhra Pradesh in the month of October 2009.
KVK Foundation partners us in our CSR activities and in the East and West Godavari districts many innovative community development programs are being run.
